With our world becoming increasingly distracted — especially on the road — drivers need confidence in their vehicle’s safety systems now more than ever. That’s why Ford is committed to engineering safe vehicles that have world-class standard and available driver-assist technologies to keep everyone protected. Ford’s Co-Pilot360™ technology is the revolutionary suite of features that are designed into many new Ford cars, trucks and SUVs,* and with many of these features activated, you’ll be able to cruise through inclement weather, dominate in heavy traffic and sail over rough terrain without much trouble. Ford models have always inspired us with their style, tech and capabilities, and now with Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology, confidence and peace of mind will come, too.
Ford’s Co-Pilot360™ Standard and Available Features
BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
Let BLIS®, or Blind Spot Information System, be your second pair of
eyes. Effortlessly detecting vehicles in your blind spot, BLIS® will
alert you before you merge. And with Cross-Traffic Alert, you’ll be
alerted of any passing traffic behind you as you back out of a
parking spot.
Lane-Keeping System
Always scanning your vehicle’s position in coordination with the
lines in the road, the Lane-Keeping System will alert you if
you’ve started to drift into another lane with signaling. If
you’ve swayed a few times, a helpful coffee cup icon will appear
as a suggestion to take a break from driving.
Pre-Collision Assist with AEB
By using cameras to scan the road ahead to detect potential
collisions, Pre-Collision Assist will alert you of any vehicles or
pedestrians, while AEB — or Automatic Emergency Braking — will
automatically apply the brakes to take corrective action when
necessary.
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Speed-focused features like Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Speed
Sign Recognition and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control can
safely regulate your vehicle’s speed. These smart features slow,
stop and even accurately resume your set speed in coordination
with the posted speed limit sign.^
Evasive Steering Assist
Everyone needs a support system — even your car. Evasive Steering
Assist provides steering support if the feature detects an incoming
collision and you need help maneuvering around the vehicle. But for
clarity, this feature does not steer for you. You’ll remain in
control of the vehicle at all times.
Reverse Brake Assist
Just like Cross-Traffic Alert, Reverse Brake Assist will detect
both stationary and
moving objects (even vehicles moving at up to 37 mph) behind your
Ford when reversing, and will apply your vehicle’s brakes if
needed.
Rearview Camera
Standard on almost all new Ford models, the classic rearview camera
is displayed on the center touchscreen. Its feed can be your extra
set of eyes when reversing, ensuring your safety (and those around
you) to be as normal as your errands.
Active Park Assist 2.0
When activated, you’ll find Active Park Assist 2.0 to be very
helpful. With this feature, you’ll be able to locate a potential
parallel or reverse perpendicular parking spot, navigate your
vehicle into position with prompts that display on your center
touchscreen and take control of the steering for stress-free
parking. You’re in charge of the acceleration, shifting and
braking.
Auto High-Beam Headlamps
Auto High-Beam Headlamps remove the hassle of turning on and off
your vehicle’s brights when an oncoming vehicle approaches.
Switching between low and high beams automatically, this safety
feature will also turn on when it senses poor lighting conditions
or darkness.
BLIS® with Trailer Coverage
This feature’s capabilities are best paired in a Ford truck or SUV,
and you’ll see why. BLIS® with Trailer Coverage can detect and alert
the driver of vehicles in your model’s blind spot plus your
trailer’s blind spot.
Pro Trailer Backup Assist™
Perfect for those long days and heavy hauls, Pro Trailer Backup
Assist™ can guide your
Ford truck
and trailer combo in your desired direction as you reverse. Simply
rotate the knob as you back up.
Hill Descent Control™
The final tech-savvy feature that pairs well with our Ford trucks
and SUVs, Hill Descent Control™, will give Ford drivers the
confidence they need to take on steep hills and inclines. By
maintaining the set speed and automatically applying the vehicle’s
brakes when needed, your descent should remain smooth and
stress-free.
There’s Even More
You’ll be happy to know that the list doesn’t stop there. If you’d like even more proactive safety features, considering adding these features to your Ford car, truck or SUV:
- Trailer Sway Control
- 360-Degree Camera
- Rain-Sensing Wipers
- Curve Control
