Recommended Winter Maintenance

• Tire Inspection: You don’t want to deal with tire issues during the winter. That’s why you want to go ahead and check the pressure levels on each tire. Also, be sure to check for any punctures or damage to the tread or any cracks on the sidewall. At this time, you may want to consider switching out to winter tires.
• Battery Test & Inspection: Make sure that your vehicle’s battery has the cold cranking amps to turn over during the dead of winter. Also, you will want to check for any signs of battery corrosion. Signs of battery corrosion include green and orange spots on the battery casing or the terminals.
• Inspect Brakes: Make sure that your vehicle can brake on icy roads. Be sure to inspect your vehicle’s brakes. If you notice that your vehicle’s stopping distance is longer than usual, then be sure to visit our service center for a professional brake inspection and repair service.
• Check/Replace Engine Antifreeze: Don’t let your engine freeze up during the winter. Now is the time to check your vehicle’s antifreeze levels. If you have low antifreeze, be sure to add the antifreeze that your vehicle will need. We also provide fast and affordable antifreeze service.
• Inspect Windshield for Cracks & Chips: Did you know that small windshield cracks can expand during the winter? If you have a small crack or chip on your windshield, you will want to have it repaired before the freezing weather arrives.
• Bring a Roadside Safety Kit: Be prepared for anything. Be sure to have a roadside safety kit ready. The kit should include flares, road hazard signs as well as a first aid kit.
• Inspect Wiper Blades: Your vehicle wiper blades will need to be able to handle the freezing rain, sleet, and snow that your vehicle will encounter. If your wiper blades have peeling rubber or if the blades are bent, be sure to have them replaced right away.
• Change Washer Fluid to Winter Blend: You may be surprised to know that washer fluid can freeze up in your vehicle. That’s why you will want to check your washer fluid to a winter blend. This will keep your windshield clean during the winter months.
• HVAC Inspection: Make sure your entire heating system is ready for the winter. Inspect the vehicle’s heater, defrost, seat warmers, and steering wheel warmers.
